CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In the school calendar, well-structured co-curricular activities are incorporated with the aim to enhance social and intellectual skills, moral, cultural & ethical values, character advancement and personality development.

THE HOUSE SYSTEM

The overall aim of the House System is to connect all year groups within the school, providing them with the opportunity to further develop skills and experiences to become confident and well-rounded individuals. The House System aims to do this by providing House members with enjoyable and competitive House events; thereby allowing students to succeed both in and outside of the classroom. All the students in the school, from grade I upwards, are allotted a house, at the time of admission. Co-curricular activities in the school year are conducted as inter-house as well as individual competitions. Being a member of a House is about being a part of a team.

They are a great way to inculcate in our students a sense of belonging and involvement in the school social community. All clubs have a well-defined curriculum and based on the club’s specific goals, interests, and available resources.

Students from grade I upwards are given an option to opt for any one club activity (offered for the class level) from the undermentioned categories. Each student is required to submit 3 options for his/her choice of school club, in order of their preference and allotment for the academic session is done based on availability of seats per club.

EDUCATIONAL TOURS

The curriculum at GDGS is aligned with educational tours /field trips undertaken during the course of the academic session. Field tours are incredibly enriching for the students and are a crucial component of the academic program because they foster confidence, self-worth, independent learning, teamwork, social skills and provide a break from the monotony of classroom learning. Educational tours also provide students with the opportunity to develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills, as they navigate unfamiliar environments and cultures. Educational trips are a perfect platform for students to bond with their peers and to build lasting memories which they will cherish life-long. Tours are organized at local, national and international level, considering the viability.
